MIGHTY YOU – Multicultural Inclusion, Growth & Hope for Thriving Youth Online is a European initiative that aims to help young people become active promoters of inclusion in digital spaces. Working with partners from Ireland, Germany, Austria, Croatia and Spain, the project develops practical resources for youth workers while creating opportunities for young people, particularly those from migrant, refugee, rural and other disadvantaged backgrounds to become Youth Champions for Digital Inclusion. The project combines research, case studies and youth participation to produce an open educational programme that explores digital literacy, online xenophobia, positive storytelling and responsible online engagement. These resources are tested through international training activities, local Youth Assemblies and a European Community of Young Inclusion Champions, creating spaces where young people learn, exchange experiences and lead initiatives within their own communities.
Creating opportunities for young people to become Youth Champions, capable of promoting inclusion, challenging online xenophobia and encouraging respectful dialogue within their own digital communities.
Developing a Digital Inclusion Toolkit and an Open Educational Resource that help youth educators address digital literacy, online discrimination and positive online engagement through non-formal education.
Helping young people recognise misinformation, question harmful narratives and use storytelling, digital media and peer learning to create more inclusive online spaces.
Connecting youth workers and young people through international training, Local Youth Assemblies and the Community of Young Inclusion Champions, encouraging collaboration and the exchange of ideas across partner countries.
A toolkit bringing together research, good practices and ready-to-use learning activities that help youth workers address online xenophobia, promote intercultural dialogue and strengthen digital inclusion in non-formal education settings. The toolkit includes 30 case studies from across Europe, showcasing successful approaches that can be adapted to different communities.
A multilingual Open Educational Resource (OER) that combines self-paced learning with a pedagogical guide for youth educators. The programme explores digital literacy, online participation, critical thinking and positive storytelling through interactive content, videos and practical exercises that can be used independently or as part of youth activities.
A transnational training programme bringing together youth workers and young people from partner countries to exchange experiences, develop new skills and test the project’s learning resources in an international environment.
Five local assemblies where young people identify the digital challenges affecting their communities, discuss solutions and develop initiatives that promote inclusion, respect and active citizenship.
A European network connecting young people committed to promoting inclusion online. Supported by a dedicated digital hub, the community encourages peer learning, collaboration and the exchange of ideas, ensuring that relationships and initiatives continue beyond the lifetime of the project.
The project works with young people aged 18–26, particularly those from migrant, refugee, rural and other disadvantaged backgrounds. Through training, peer learning and local initiatives, participants strengthen their digital skills, explore positive online communication and become Youth Champions who promote inclusion within their own communities.
Youth workers play a central role in the project. They receive practical resources, training and ready-to-use methodologies that help them facilitate conversations around digital citizenship, diversity, media literacy and online inclusion in non-formal education settings.
NGOs, youth centres and community organisations gain access to innovative educational resources that support inclusive youth work, encourage intercultural dialogue and strengthen young people’s participation both online and offline.
Schools, public authorities and organisations working in youth, migration and social inclusion can draw on the project’s research, educational resources and good practices to strengthen digital inclusion initiatives and foster more respectful online environments.
The way young people understand diversity is increasingly shaped online. Social media, short-form video and digital communities influence how cultures, identities and migration are perceived, often long before these topics are discussed in classrooms or community settings.
Positive stories can foster understanding and belonging. Harmful narratives, misinformation and online xenophobia can reinforce stereotypes, fuel exclusion and make young people, particularly those from migrant and multicultural backgrounds feel isolated or unwelcome.
Creating more inclusive digital spaces starts with education. Young people need the confidence to think critically about the content they consume and share, while youth workers need practical resources to facilitate meaningful conversations about diversity, digital citizenship and respectful online participation. MIGHTY YOU responds to this challenge by placing young people at the centre of the solution, helping them become active voices for inclusion within their own digital communities.
