About the Project

RESPONSE – Crisis Resilience for Social Entrepreneurs is a 24-month Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership bringing together organisations from Ireland, Spain, Germany and Ukraine to strengthen the resilience of the social economy through adult education. The project develops a practical learning pathway that enables educators to integrate crisis resilience into entrepreneurship training. From a European competence framework and modular curriculum to an interactive self-assessment application and open-access Knowledge Hub, RESPONSE provides the tools educators and social entrepreneurs need to better prepare for uncertainty, make informed decisions and respond more effectively when disruption occurs. Special attention is given to supporting Ukrainian educators and social enterprises by adapting resources to their context and creating opportunities for knowledge exchange with partners across Europe.

Helping social entrepreneurs anticipate risks, strengthen decision-making and improve their ability to adapt, recover and continue delivering social impact during periods of disruption.

Expanding access to resilience learning

Providing open, flexible and digital learning opportunities through an interactive Knowledge Hub, peer learning resources and self-directed learning pathways accessible across Europe.

Fostering European collaboration

Connecting educators, social enterprises and business support organisations to exchange experience, share practical solutions and strengthen resilience across different national contexts, including Ukraine.

Social Enterprise Resilience Competence Framework

A European framework defining the knowledge, skills and competences adult educators need to teach crisis resilience within social entrepreneurship programmes.

Modular Curriculum & Educator Packages

A flexible training programme, complete with facilitator guidance, case studies and practical learning materials that can be adapted to classroom, blended or online learning environments.

Crisis Resilience Assessment Application

An interactive digital self-assessment tool enabling social entrepreneurs to evaluate their preparedness, identify strengths and learning needs, and receive personalised recommendations for further development.

Interactive Knowledge Hub

An open-access platform bringing together training resources, good practices, peer learning opportunities and practical guidance to support educators and social entrepreneurs beyond the lifetime of the project.

Adult Educators

Trainers, facilitators and adult learning professionals who support social entrepreneurs through formal, non-formal and lifelong learning.

Social Entrepreneurs

Founders, managers and teams working in the social economy who want practical strategies to strengthen organisational resilience and prepare for future challenges.

Business Support Organisations

Incubators, enterprise agencies, local development organisations and social economy networks that provide guidance and training to social enterprises.

Policymakers & Community Stakeholders

Public authorities, education providers and social economy organisations interested in embedding crisis resilience into entrepreneurship support systems and adult education policies.

Social enterprises are often the organisations communities rely on most during times of crisis. Whether responding to economic uncertainty, environmental disasters or social emergencies, they continue delivering essential services while facing many of the same challenges themselves. Yet crisis preparedness is rarely part of entrepreneurship or adult education. Many social entrepreneurs learn how to navigate disruption through experience rather than training, leaving organisations vulnerable when unexpected events threaten their operations.

RESPONSE aims to address this gap by helping educators integrate crisis resilience into entrepreneurship education, ensuring that social enterprises are better prepared to anticipate risks, adapt to change and continue creating social impact when communities need them most.
